Timberline Professional Firefighters
Local 5632 represents the career firefighters of Timberline Fire Protection District, located in Colorado's Front Range about 30 miles from the Denver/Boulder metro area. The district's coverage stretches from Nederland in Boulder County south to Black Hawk and Central City near I-70, running from the foothills west to the Continental Divide — terrain ranging from around 6,000 to over 13,000 feet in elevation.
It's a demanding coverage area: extreme weather, high altitude, limited water supply for fire suppression, with unforgiving roads and terrain. Roughly 6,000 people live here year-round, a number that swells to 15,000–20,000 during peak season with visitors to Golden Gate Canyon State Park, thousands of acres of National Forest, and the southeastern edge of Eldora Mountain Ski Resort.
